putting miles on my sole

Last week was a really good week for running.
Monday I had my PT test. I ran 1.5 miles in 9:39. The only reason I was able to run that fast was because of shoes though. The only reason I ran in shoes is because the regulations say that I have to wear athletic shoes with sock while in PT uniform. This run acted as a speed workout, which I need to do more of.

I actually own a set of VFF's but was unable to wear them do to sock malfunction. I actually thought that I would be able to cut off the toe end of a cheap pair of socks to work with the Five Fingers; turns out they bunched up in the middle of my foot. They do make special socks for them. Will need to get some before long.

Tuesday was my normal route but I ran it a lot quicker than my normal training pace. 3.5 miles in 29:59. My legs just felt good. That is about the pace I trained at with shoes. This is a really good sign for me. I am increasing my mileage and my speed.

Wednesday I had originally planned on running but for some reason that escapes me at the moment I slept in.

To make up for my lack of running on Wednesday, I decided to hit it hard on Thursday. I was hoping to run a timed out and back of 30 minutes. I ended up being a few minutes shy of the full hour mark, however I did run 6 miles. Later on that day I went to the gym to do a Crossfit exercise: 2k row, 50 wall ball squats, 1k row, 35 WBS, 500m row, 20 WBS. What a workout!

Friday I ran the normal route in 35 minutes. When I got down with my run, my Garmin was acting funny due to what I believe was sweat. I restarted my watch and lost all data only to find out I didn't lose it. But that's part of a different story.

That's all I have for you now, so get out there and run!

God bless.
